SAY IT LOUD: PUBLIC SPEAKING POINTERS

October 27, 2016

Here are a few speaking pointers from the 2014 Toastmaster’s International World Champion of public speaking Dananjaya Hettiarachchi.

1. Keep your body open to the audience. This shows confidence and helps maintain audience interest

2. Have the palms of your hands open. Demonstrates that you want to connect with the audience.

3. Get comfortable with the stage prior to speaking. If not, you will constrict your movement which will show the audience that you are not comfortable.

4. Don’t touch the podium. You can place notes on the podium, but keep your distance. If you touch the podium you may without knowing lean on it sometime during the presentation.

Here’s to your success!
